Step-by-step guide to creating a new booking from start to finish.

How to Create a Booking

Creating a booking reserves a specific unit for a guest, resident, camper, member, or customer over a date range. LodgeKit checks availability, calculates charges, and tracks the entire stay lifecycle.

Go to Dashboard > Bookings

Click Bookings in the sidebar to see your bookings list.

Click New Booking

Click the New Booking button at the top right of the page.

Select a person record

Choose an existing guest, resident, camper, member, or customer from the dropdown, or type a new name to create a person record inline. You will need their email address.

Choose dates

Set the booking, stay, reservation, or placement start and end dates. LodgeKit will only show units that are available for your selected dates.

Select a unit

Pick a unit from the dropdown. Only units available for your dates are shown. The configured rate is displayed next to each unit.

Add notes (optional)

Enter any booking notes or special requests. These are visible to staff when viewing the booking details.

Confirm

Click Confirm to create the booking. The unit is now reserved and the person record will appear on the bookings list.

If you are taking a booking over the phone, you can create the person record and booking at the same time. There is no need to go to the people list first.

Automatic Charges

When you create a booking, LodgeKit calculates the total price based on the unit's configured rate and the length of stay. You can add extra charges later (cleaning fees, damage deposits, amenity rentals) from the booking detail page.
