The Booking Lifecycle

Every booking in LodgeKit follows a lifecycle with clear statuses. Understanding these statuses helps you manage your property efficiently and know exactly where each booking stands.

1

Pending

The booking has been created but not yet confirmed. Use this for tentative reservations or bookings awaiting payment.

2

Confirmed

The booking is confirmed and the unit is reserved. The guest is expected to arrive on the check-in date.

3

Reserved

Similar to confirmed, used for advance reservations. The unit is blocked on the calendar.

4

Checked In

The guest has arrived and is currently staying. The unit status automatically changes to Occupied.

5

Checked Out

The stay is complete. The unit is released and any final charges are added. The unit status returns to Available (or Dirty if housekeeping is enabled).

6

Cancelled

The booking has been cancelled. The unit is released and made available for other bookings.

Changing a Booking Status

To change a booking's status, open the booking from the bookings list and use the action buttons at the top of the detail page. You will see buttons like Check In, Check Out, or Cancel depending on the current status. Each status change is recorded in the booking's audit trail.

You cannot skip statuses. A booking must be Confirmed before it can be Checked In, and Checked In before it can be Checked Out. This ensures your records are accurate.
