Welcome to LodgeKit
LodgeKit is a complete property management platform built for lodges, caravan parks, holiday parks, student housing, short-stay rentals, and accommodation providers. This guide walks you through your first steps - from creating your account to accepting your first booking, stay, or placement.
First time?
Follow these steps in order. Each one builds on the previous, and the whole setup takes under 10 minutes.
- Create your account and set up your organisation
- Add your units and set base rates
- Add your first guest, resident, camper, or customer
- Create a booking, stay, or placement and start managing
Step 1: Create Your Account
Visit the LodgeKit sign-up page and enter your details. You'll need your name, email address, and a strong password. After signing up, you'll be taken straight to your dashboard.
Set Up Your Organisation
Your organisation is the top-level container for everything in LodgeKit. Give it a name (e.g. "Lakeside Holiday Park") and set your timezone and currency. You can update these later in Settings.
Step 2: Add Your Units
Navigate to the units section and click Add Unit. Enter the unit name, type, and any relevant details like capacity and rate. You can add units one at a time or use the bulk import feature to upload a CSV.
Step 3: Add Your First Person Record
Go to Dashboard > Guests and click Add Guest. Enter their name, email, and phone number. Depending on your LodgeKit flavour, this record may represent a guest, resident, camper, member, or customer, and can also be created automatically when you create a booking, stay, reservation, or placement.
Step 4: Create a Booking, Stay, or Placement
Head to Dashboard > Bookings and click New Booking. Select the person record, choose a unit, set the booking, stay, reservation, or placement start and end dates, and confirm. LodgeKit will calculate the charges based on your unit rates and the billing cadence for your flavour.
What's Next?
Now that you have the basics down, explore invoicing to bill guests, residents, campers, members, or customers, connect a payment gateway to accept online payments, or set up your Xero integration to keep your accounting in sync. Check out the other guides in this knowledge base for detailed walkthroughs.
You're all set!
You've created your account, added units, and made your first booking, stay, or placement. You can now explore invoicing, payments, and integrations at your own pace.
