Why Flavours Matter

Each LodgeKit flavour keeps the same secure platform core while changing terminology, recommended modules, setup guidance, default billing cadence, and integration priorities for the way your operation actually works.

Same core, different workflow

A student housing team should see residents, rooms, beds, placements, rent, arrears, wellbeing, and condition reports. A hotel team should see guests, rooms, reservations, nightly rates, housekeeping, deposits, and OTA-ready channel setup.

Available Product Flavours

Choose the product closest to your operating model. You can start with a specialised flavour or use general accommodation until the right setup is clear.

  • LodgeKit Student: student accommodation, residential colleges, hostels, and rooming houses with residents, rooms, beds, placements, rent, arrears, wellbeing, condition reports, and compliance.
  • LodgeKit Hotel: hotels, motels, inns, and reception-led properties with guests, rooms, reservations, nightly rates, housekeeping, deposits, amenities, reports, and OTA channel readiness.
  • LodgeKit Stays: Airbnb hosts, vacation rentals, holiday homes, and short-stay operators with properties, stays, cleaning turnover, deposits, and listing-channel workflows.
  • LodgeKit Parks: caravan parks and holiday parks with sites, cabins, mixed reservations, guests, deposits, amenities, payments, reports, and park-friendly channel setup.
  • LodgeKit Camp: campgrounds and outdoor operators with sites, campers, reservations, deposits, amenities, lean billing, and simple outdoor channel control.
  • LodgeKit Apartments: serviced apartments and aparthotels with apartments, guests, reservations, mixed nightly or monthly rates, housekeeping, condition reports, arrears, deposits, and accounting.
  • LodgeKit Co-Living: shared living communities with members, rooms, beds, stays, membership or rent billing, deposits, arrears, wellbeing, and condition reports.

What Changes in the App

The selected flavour affects the words and defaults your team sees across operational screens. Inventory, people, booking records, invoices, reports, emails, portal copy, channel setup prompts, and optional module notices all use the vertical language where possible.

1

Terminology

Units become rooms, properties, sites, apartments, or other inventory labels. Guests become residents, campers, members, or guests. Bookings become placements, reservations, stays, or bookings.

2

Recommended modules

Each flavour highlights the modules normally needed first. For example, student accommodation recommends beds, arrears, wellbeing, condition reports, and compliance; hotels and short-stay rentals recommend OTA channels and housekeeping.

3

Billing cadence

Nightly, weekly, monthly, or mixed-rate defaults are suggested based on the flavour. You can still adjust rates and billing rules to match your property.

4

Integrations

The integration list changes priority by vertical, so Xero, Stripe, GoCardless, OTA channels, channel managers, or portal workflows are surfaced where they fit best.

OTA and Third-Party Booking Channels

Channel setup is intentionally controlled. LodgeKit supports staged imports, external mapping, readiness checks, and audited availability/rate exports so incoming third-party bookings can be reviewed before they affect local availability.

  • Hotels prioritise Booking.com, Expedia, Google Hotel, and channel-manager readiness.
  • Airbnb and vacation rental operations prioritise Airbnb, Vrbo, Booking.com, Expedia, Stripe, and approved channel-manager paths.
  • Caravan parks prioritise Booking.com, Expedia, Hipcamp, Stripe, Xero, and compatible channel-manager workflows.
  • Campgrounds prioritise Hipcamp, ReserveAmerica, Booking.com, Stripe, and controlled custom channel imports.
  • Serviced apartments can combine hotel-style Booking.com or Expedia sync with Airbnb-style channel-manager workflows.

Use approved channel paths

Do not connect channels by scraping portals or sharing staff passwords. Use approved APIs, official partner flows, iCal where appropriate, or a supported channel manager so credentials, mappings, and audit trails stay secure.

Changing Your Flavour

Go to Dashboard > Settings > Organisation and choose the property type that best matches your operation. Review the recommended modules and integration prompts after saving, especially if you already have units, people, bookings, or channel mappings in the system.

If you operate more than one model, choose the flavour that matches the daily workflow your team uses most. Mixed operators usually start with LodgeKit Parks, LodgeKit Apartments, or general accommodation.
